Candle Care & Usage
How do I make my candle last longer?
To extend the life of your hand-poured soy wax candle:
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before
each burn. - Allow the wax to melt to the
edges of the jar on the first burn to prevent tunneling. - Keep it away from drafts to
ensure an even burn.
How do I get the best scent throw from my candle?
To maximize scent throw:
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before
each burn to prevent soot. - Let your candle burn for at
least 2–3 hours on the first burn. - Place your candle in a smaller,
enclosed space for a stronger fragrance.
Why is it important to trim the wick?
A trimmed wick helps prevents soot, reduces excess smoke, and ensures an even, steady burn.
Why is my candle tunnelling, and how can I fix it?
Tunnelling happens when the wax doesn’t melt to the edges of the jar.
To fix it: burn the candle for 2-3 hours to reset the wax memory, or try wrapping foil around the edges while burning.

Do soy candles burn as strongly as paraffin candles?
Soy candles offer a softer, more natural burn. While their fragrance throw is still rich and long-lasting, it comes without the harmful toxins found in paraffin wax.
Are your candles safe for pets?
Our candles are made with pure soy wax and phthalate-free, paraben-free fragrance oils, making them a cleaner option for pet-friendly homes.
Are your candles safe for people with allergies or sensitivities?
We use clean fragrance oils that are free from parabens and phthalates, making them a better option for those with sensitivities.
Do your candles contain essential oils?
No. Many people think essential oils are the ‘natural’ choice, but in candles they don’t always perform well. They can fade quickly or even release toxins if overheated. That’s why we use paraben and phthalate free fragrance oils. They’re made for candles, so you get a clean, safe burn (safe for pets and humans!), a stronger scent throw, and the freedom to create unique blends.

We offer a flat rate of $15.00 across Canada, FREE local delivery within 25km of Brooklin, ON, and FREE shipping on orders over $80.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Since our candles are hand-poured in small batches, we do not accept returns or exchanges. However, if you experience any issues, please contact us.
Can I cancel my order?
We accept cancellations within 24 hours of purchase. Email us (relityourself@gmail.com) as soon as possible with your order details.
My candles arrived damaged. What should I do?
If your candle arrives damaged, please email us at relityourself@gmail.com with your order number and clear photos of the damaged item and packaging within 24 hours of delivery.

Our products are manufactured both locally and globally. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value.
